Your data is yours, and it stays that way.
Campaigns ask us two questions before anything else: is my data safe, and will you share it? Here are the plain answers - who controls your data, what we will and will not do with it, how it is protected, and the data-protection authorities we register with, country by country.

We never trade it.
The same commitments apply to every campaign and party on the platform, and they are written into our privacy policy, not just this page.
- You own your data
- The voters, supporters, agents, and result forms you collect are yours. You are the data controller; Election Edge acts as your data processor, handling that data only on your instructions.
- We never sell it
- Your data is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers or data brokers. It is not a product. It exists to run your campaign and nothing else.
- One campaign can never see another's
- Every record is isolated by campaign at the database level (row-level security). Another campaign on the platform has no path to your data - not by accident, not by URL.
- We disclose only when you say so, or the law compels it
- We share data on your instruction, or where a legal obligation requires it (for example a court, or an electoral commission under national law) - and we tell you when that happens.
- Sub-processors are few and named
- The vendors that help run the service (hosting, email) are a short, named list under data-processing agreements, bound to the same commitments. They are listed in our privacy policy.
- Export or delete on request
- You can ask for a machine-readable export of your data, or its deletion, and we act within 30 days - subject only to records the law requires us to retain (such as election evidence).
Safe is a property of the system, not a promise.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
TLS 1.3 on the wire, AES-256 at rest, and short-lived private links for every result-form photo.
Row-level security keeps each campaign's data walled off from every other tenant on the platform.
Every confirmed result lands in an append-only, SHA-256 hash-chained log, tamper-evident end to end.
- A person checks every number
Results are agent-entered and reviewer-confirmed against the photographed form. No automated guess enters the count.

Election Edge is built for Kenya first and expands deliberately. As we enter each new country, we register with its data-protection authority under local law before we operate there - the rows above marked "Planned" are the authorities we register with on that path.

Election Edge is operated by Zippie Ltd (Westlands Delta Corner Annex, Ring Rd Westlands Ln, Nairobi). We are the data controller for account, billing, security, and platform data; for the campaign data you collect, you are the controller and we are your processor.
